Prado could be considered a “big park”. There are lots of beautiful, green landscapes, among which you can find the City’s Botanical Garden and the Rose Garden, with not only wonderful natural vegetation, but also with sculptural monuments from local and foreign artists, dating back to the 19th century.

Its streets are wide and lined with tall trees, surrounded by green gardens, and diverse tree species, such as cypress, cork oats, palm trees, elms, jacarandas, lime trees, ceibos, etc.

Parking in this area is done with extreme facility, due to its ample streets.

Quick access to national routes 5 and 1, which takes you to well known beach resorts as well as to the city of Colonia, allowing easy ground transportation to Argentina.

Atahualpa is a neighborhood that offers the same characteristics as Prado.

In its origins this was an area of country houses and small farms, nowadays totally incorporated to the city, but still keeps some of its architectural characteristics that evoke the times in which they were constructed, like Jackson Chapel, the Vaz Ferreira Villa and Damaso A. Larrañaga’s country house, among others.

The “Cambadu Social Park”, with many of its old trees that are now the atraction and admiration of the visitors, is the green space that characterizes the zone.
